How it works

  1. 1

    Post the job

Say what needs doing, when, and what you'll pay. It takes a few minutes and only an approximate area is shown.

  2. 2

    Get offers from nearby

Workers close by see your job and express interest with a short message.

  3. 3

Pick someone and get it done

Accept who you want, agree the details, and pay them directly once the job is done.

What it costs

  • Posting a job: free. Standard posts stay up for 24 hours, urgent posts for 12.
  • Boost (optional): £0.99 to show your job above others nearby.
  • The work itself: agreed between you and the worker, and paid to them directly.

Questions

How much does it cost to post a job?

Posting is free. A standard post stays up for 24 hours and an urgent post for 12. You can add an optional £0.99 Boost to show your job above others nearby; that's the only thing you ever pay QuickGig.

When am I charged for a Boost?

Before your job goes live. If the payment doesn't go through, your job stays unpublished and you can try again or publish it free without the Boost.

How do I choose who does the job?

Nearby workers express interest with a short message. You see each one and accept the people you want; anyone you don't accept never sees your phone number.

How do I pay the worker?

Directly. You agree the price when you post and pay the worker yourself once the job is done. QuickGig doesn't hold or handle the money for the work, so never pay anyone up front.

Is my address shown publicly?

No. Listings only ever show an approximate area. You share the exact address with the worker you accept.

What if nobody responds?

A response isn't guaranteed, especially in areas where QuickGig is new. Your post expires on its own, and you can post again for free at any time.

What jobs aren't allowed?

Every job is screened before it goes live. Anything illegal or unsafe, anything asking for payment or bank details up front, and adult services are refused. Van listings are for moving goods only: no passengers, waste removal or hazardous goods.

Are workers or van providers vetted?

Not yet. QuickGig doesn't check IDs, and van insurance is self-declared. Requesters can see whether a worker's number is WhatsApp-verified and how many QuickGig jobs they've completed. Ask questions before you agree a job.

How do I report a problem?

Every job and van listing has a report option for scams, spam, unsafe requests or anything else that feels wrong. Reports are reviewed by a person and never reveal who sent them.
